February In Review

IMG_1906

Hello, friends! This month has been absolute craziness. There’s a lot that has been going on, and I’m really sorry if you haven’t heard from me in a while. However, I’m going to try to make up for it with my February Non-Beauty Favorites! Let’s get started!

  • Since I Fell For You by Barbara Streisand: I’ve been listening to this song all this month, and I love it. It’s a really soulful, jazzy song and Babs does an incredible job singing it.
  • Like Real People Do by Hozier: My friend, Katelynn, introduced me to this song and it’s so gorgeous. It’s got a folk-country feel and just makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
  • I’m a Mess by Ed Sheeran: I love Ed! His music never disappoints and neither does this song. Once you listen to it a few times, you can’t help but sing along.
  • Friends (TV): I’ve been obsessed with watching Friends this month. The show is absolutely hilarious and never fails to make me laugh. I love watching the dynamic of the characters and you can tell that they really love what they are doing.
  • Snapchat: I don’t know why, but Snapchat has been an obsession of mine this month. I’ve been adding a lot of snaps to my story and I love looking at other people’s stories. They always brighten my day.
  • Yoga: I’ve gotten really into yoga this month. I’ve been working on some difficult poses, and I’m proud to say that I have finally gotten the Crow Pose (Bakasana)! I know that there’s a lot more to yoga than cool poses, but it’s definitely fun trying them!

Cool Things That Went Down:  Like I said! This was a really crazy month! Here’s some things that occurred:

  • Rehearsals for Fame: They’re coming along, but snow days have cost us a week’s worth of rehearsals, which is very stressful. I’m sure that we’ll bring it all together, though.
  • Phantom of the Opera: I got to see Phantom of the Opera with my family downtown, and I loved it! Phantom is one of my favorite musicals and it was amazing getting to experience it onstage!
  • Governor’s School Audition: I auditioned for Governor’s School this month for Theatre, and it was a really fun experience. Governor’s School is a 5 week summer program that offers enrichment classes to students that want to learn more about their passion and life in general. There’s no guarantee that I’ll get in, but I auditioned, so we’ll see what happens!
  • Voice Competition: I participated in a voice “competition” this month in which I sang two classical pieces for a judge and received a rating.
  • So Many Snow Days: I feel like I haven’t been at school in forever! My county has definitely received its fair share of snow days.

I hope you guys enjoyed this month. Honestly, it was super busy and stressful, so I don’t know if I was able to fully enjoy it, but I’m excited for a fresh new month. And hopefully some sunshine! Anyways! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I’ll talk to you later!

10 Things That Make Me Happy

IMG_1801

Hello, friends! It’s so easy to get caught up in your life and not think about all the good things that it brings. I think it’s important to step back and reflect on the little things that are positive and worth be thankful for. Here are ten things that make me happy:

  1. Acting: I love acting! It’s one of my passions and I get a lot of joy from being on stage and losing myself in a role.
  2. Cookies: I think cookies are the most delicious food in the world and they make me so happy.
  3. Sunshine: I’m always in a better mood when the sun is shining. I think it’s beautiful when the sun is out and the sky is blue!
  4. Coffee With Friends: One of my favorite past times is to get coffee with friends. I love getting to chat and connect with my friends over a delicious beverage.
  5. Dogs: I think dogs are so great and they make me so happy. There’s nothing better than curling up and snuggling with your furry friend. Alliteration, yo.
  6. Painting My Nails: I think it’s so fun to paint my nails different colors!
  7. YouTube: I love YouTube and I could seriously sit at home and watch videos all day.
  8. Cupcakes: Again, I love baked goods! Cupcakes are so cute and so delicious.
  9. Creating: I love to create! Whether it’s cooking, baking, or art, I think it’s so fun to make things.
  10. Snuggly Blankets: I have this one blue blanket that I absolutely love, because it’s so warm and cozy. I love cozying up in a soft blanket and chilling out.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I love you ❤

Prom Dress Shopping!

FullSizeRender-3

Hello ,friends! Now that it is prom season, my friends and I are all getting excited for prom and starting to prepare for it! Prom-posals are definitely in full-swing; my Instagram feed is proof of that. Also, people are starting to look at options for what they are going to wear at prom!

I actually got to do a little bit of shopping for dresses with my friend today, and we had an absolute blast trying on different styles, colors, and posing crazily in front of the mirror. I actually got stuck in this on e dress and broke the zipper, so this stranger helped rip me out of it. It was definitely interesting. I didn’t end up buying any dresses, but I did get an idea of what I want and don’t want, which was the goal.

I came to the conclusion that the best dress for me would be strapless, long, and preferably with a little sparkle. I really like blue shades, especially royal blue. Hopefully I can find a dress that doesn’t break the bank. If you know of any good prom boutiques, let me know in the comments below! I will definitely check them out. After all of this prom dress craziness, I have some tips on shopping for prom dresses to share with you.

  1. Take a friend: Your friend will tell you the truth, but will guarantee that it will come out nicely. It’s also fun to have a friend to take pictures with.
  2. Be openminded: Try a bunch of different styles and colors! You never know what you might find.
  3. Take pictures: Take pictures of you in the dresses you try on to use as reference later.
  4. Can you move? : One test to make sure a dress size or style is right for you is to dance around and see how comfortable you are. If you’re going to dance the night away, might as well be comfortable.
  5. Don’t give up: Don’t worry about finding a dress the first time you go shopping. Take some time to look at different places, but make sure that you plan enough to have enough time to get the dress and have it altered.
  6. Inspiration: Create a Pinterest board to have all of your prom inspiration in one place! It will give you a clearer view of what exactly you’re looking for.

I hope you enjoyed these tips on finding prom dresses! Good luck ❤
