Prom 2015

Hello, friends! Last weekend was my junior prom, and I had an amazing time. I want to share some of the awesome things that this event entailed for me and my friends.

The Dress

My dress is from Dillard’s and it wasn’t the one I was expecting to get, but it ended up being the one I took home. I hope I can use this for other events, as well.

The Hair

My best friend, Eden, kindly did my hair for me. She french-braided the front sections of my hair into a half-up-half-down and curled the ends. To add a touch of sparkle, a pearly clip was placed in the back.

I used a combination of Revlon ColorStay BB Cream, Revlon ColorStay Foundation, and Tarte Mineral Foundation to make sure that my face makeup would last through dancing the night away. I know it’s a tad heavy, but hey, it’s prom. I also added pink blush and highlighter for a glow.

For the eyes, I went for a silvery/smokey look. I used my Revealed Palette to apply a silver shadow on my lid, a gray/brown in the crease, and a black/bronze color in the outer corner. For added flair, I added some natural fake lashes. Go big or go home, folks.

For lip color, I wen with NYX “Little Susie” to tie it all together.

Prom Night

I went to prom with a group of friends, and it was so nice to not have to worry about dates and all that mess. We were able to fully enjoy ourselves and relax.

My friends came over to my house before dinner to take pictures. It was really fun to
have everyone and their family together to take pictures. The hardest part was figuring out which came to look at!

For dinner, we went to a steak house near the mall. Afterwards, we walked around the mall for a bit until it was time to go to prom. We got some weird looks from people shopping, but it was fine.As for the actual prom event, it was held at an old mill about 20 minutes from where I live. The theme was “A Night Under The Stars”, complete with corn hole, dancing, and a Photo Booth. My friends and I danced the night away and had an amazing time.

After prom, my group went to Sonic to grab milkshakes. It was midnight at that point, but it was very memorable.

Prom was definitely one of the highlights of my year. I’m so thankful for my group and this experience!
