Hello, friends! I am coming to you guys with a first impression of the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation. It’s a very long name, but a very innovative product. Do you want to know what I think about it? Read below
What the heck is this thing?
The basic idea behind this product was generated by Asian beauty companies. The foundation is the first of its kind that I’ve seen in the drugstore. The premise of the cushion foundation is that the product is loaded in a cushion within the packaging. Pressing on top of this cushion will dispense the product for a natural finish and easy application. This specific foundation is intended to be layered as it gives lighter coverage.
- Great for on-the-go coverage
- Light to medium coverage (buildable)
- Fresh and luminous finish
$16.99- pretty steep for a drugstore foundation
The foundation comes in 12 different shades. L’Oreal does a great job with shade range and informs the customer on matching skin undertones with products. My shade is in N3.5 Classic Buff.
The packaging is in a compact. It’s very light and the perfect size. The foundation is also very aesthetically pleasing with its girly label and rose gold lid. I appreciate the large mirror and separate compartment for the sponge applicator it comes with.I think it will be great to travel with.
I used the provided sponge applicator to try the foundation. Pressing into the cushion of foundation was a little weird, but one tap was enough for half of my face. The sponge applicator is awkward to use, but applies the product to the skin well.
The foundation is bendable and gives light to medium coverage. Because its a luminous foundation, it leaves a natural, dewy finish. The product isn’t heavy, but I feel a little greasy. Even after five minutes it didn’t seem to completely set.
Despite my super oily skin and this dewy foundation, I am really impressed with its lasting power! Seven hours after application, the foundation still looked great without touch ups.
This foundation is so innovative! I really like the packaging and think it will be great for traveling. I’m also happily surprised with the formula and lasting power. The only thing I don’t like is that the sponge is hard to use and the product is a bit expensive for drugstore makeup. I recommend this product for those who want to play up their beauty routine and/or want something on-the-go.
I hope you enjoyed this post!
