Life Update: I’m Back!

img_7024Hello, friends! Wow! It has been a minute since I’ve written on this blog. It’s so nice to be able to talk to you guys again. I hope that all of you are doing well and thank you so much for the support you’ve given me throughout this Love Ling journey. I really do apologize for not being active on this blog lately. This semester has been absolutely crazy and lately, I’ve felt uninspired for writing topics. However, summer is here and I am ready to relax at home and put in a bit of blogging for you guys.

Let’s do a little bit of a life update. I just finished my first semester of college and I can’t believe how quickly, yet how slowly the year went by. I have definitely learned a lot, both from my classes and just being on my own. I’m a theatre major, so I really enjoyed the theatre classes I took, such as design and acting. I also found it really rewarding to branch out and take classes in subjects that I was interested in, like Italian and art history.IMG_7102

While my classes were fun, there were definitely some challenges. Like many college students, I spent many long nights in the library. Papers just need to get done, sometimes! I’m definitely enjoying my summer break, where I don’t have to worry about completing assignments or studying for tests. Thank the Lord.

Outside of the classroom, I had a lot of fun working in the theatre department. I was privileged enough to be in two MainStage shows (a devised piece and A Midsummer Night’s Dream), as well as two lab shows. I’ve really enjoyed being a part of the theatre department at my school. It’s very close-knit, between both students and faculty. I’ve met a lot of amazing people through this department and have been given some great opportunities.

IMG_0411I also got involved in Alphi Phi Omega, which is a co-ed service fraternity on campus. This has allowed me to meet some really great people who are passionate about service, as well as work for some really great organizations. APO also helped me get to know my town better, as I get be involved in the community and the people living in it. Woo service!dt6a9368

My first year of college has also introduced me to some really awesome friends. I have fortunately gotten really close with my roommates and can’t wait to live with them next year! One of my favorite things about my school is that it’s small, so it’s really easy to make friends and constantly see people that you know. I’m super grateful for the people I’ve met this year!

There’s a lot more that went into my first year of college, but I tried to sum it up the best I could! All I can say that it was a rollercoaster–full of challenges, great memories, and lots of changes. I can’t wait to see what the rest of college brings!

As for right now, I’m enjoying my summer and am currently trying to find a job. I can’t believe that I have three months to just relax and recharge before I go back and do it all over again! This summer, I am hoping to do a lot of the things that I love. I plan on reading, painting, and hanging out with friends and family. I also have a lot of really fun blog posts lined up for you guys! I’ve been on a big beauty kick, so be prepared to see a lot of beauty reviews and hauls!

If you’ve made it to the end of this blog post, kudos to you! This was a long one! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this blog and I encourage you to follow Love Ling, so that you can stay up to date on this awesome blogging journey. Have an awesome day and I love y’all so much!
