July Beauty Favorites

Hello, friends! Oh my goodness, summer is really winding down. This summer is being cut a little short for me, as I go back to school next Tuesday for orientation team! I’m still in the process of packing for school, but I’m more than half way. The goal for this school year to to minimize the junk and keep everything neat!

This past month has been pretty wild, because it has been completely filled with work. Though making the trek to uptown every day is a little overwhelming, I’ve appreciated having a routine. In this post, I’m going to be talking about my favorite beauty products that have become a part of my routine and that have really gotten me through crazy July!

Soap and Glory Vitamin C Face Soap

I have been wanting to try this cleanser for so long and now that I’ve been using it for a few weeks, I love it. First off, the bottle is huge. It’s almost the size of a shampoo bottle, so you get a lot of bang for your buck. The actual product is gentle, yet really cleanses your skin. I use it morning and night and it leaves my skin feeling refreshed, but really soft.

Soap and Glory “Scrub of Your Life” Body Scrub

You can’t help but love the cheeky product names that Soap and Glory comes up with. I recently discovered body scrubs this summer, and they have changed my shower game. I like this product, because it’s easy to use, turns into a foam when mixed with water, and washes off really easily.  I use this a couple times a week and it leaves my skin feeling so smooth. It’s especially great to use before shaving your legs, because it makes legs feel softer for a longer period of time. The scent is also really fresh, so it’s a win-win all around.

L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara

This has been my go-to mascara for this entire month! The brush is so soft and really coats my lashes with product. My lashes are left ultra volumized and lengthened–it honestly looks like I am wearing false lashes. I have tried to going back to some of my other mascaras, but I find that they don’t make my lashes look the way this one does. If you are interested in more information about this mascara, I actually did a review a little while ago! I will leave the link here.

Maybelline Better Skin Foundation/Concealer

I really like this foundation/concealer combo, because it evens out my skin tone while mattifying my face. I apply the foundation with a sponge, then apply the slightly lighter concealer under my eyes. It leaves a soft, natural finish while covering up my imperfections. This foundation wears beautifully throughout the day, though I do need to blot after about 5 hours. These two products are super affordable and one of the best face products in the drugstore.

Benefit Porefessional Primer

I love this primer, because it feels really light on the skin, yet helps my foundation go on smoother and last longer. It’s super soft and blends out seamlessly. I also like to use this on days where I don’t wear makeup, because it helps control my shine throughout the day. This has definitely been a staple product for me during this crazy month.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments below–what are some of your favorite products from this month? Have you tried any of the items I mentioned?

Have a great day!

May Favorites

halfway

Hello, friends! Today I’m going to share some of my favorite beauty products that I used in the month of May. For me, May marked the end of the spring semester and the beginning of summer. It was filled with a lot of stress and some hard days, but also granted me opportunities to spend time with my friends and family. It was also the month in which I tried out a lot of new beauty products, some of which I am going to share with you today. I hope you enjoy!

Processed with VSCO with t1 presetVictoria’s Secret Supersoft Body Butter in “Coconut Milk”

This body butter is so luxurious-feeling and does a great job moisturizing my skin. It’s got a relatively strong coconut-lime scent that is noticeable throughout the day, so if you don’t like lingering scents, you may not like this product. However, I like that it has a scent and think it’s perfect for summer! This product also has a bit of shimmer to it, so it gives your skin a nice glow.

Victoria’s Secret “Bombshell” Rollerball

I love this perfume! It’s got a gorgeous, fruity scent that is (again) perfect for the summertime. Victoria’s Secret is known for this perfume and for good reason!

Benefit “The Porefessional” Primer

I am definitely late to the game for this product–it’s been around for a while and I am happy that I’ve finally trying it. It feels light on the skin and makes my face feel super soft. This primer also does a great job of making my foundation look smooth and keeping it on all day. I just have the travel size for right now, but I’m thinking about upgrading to the full size. We shall see!

Wet n Wild Highlighter in “Precious Petals”

I love this highlighter! It’s got a beautiful, peachy-gold shimmer to it and is really soft and pigmented. I add this to the tops of my cheek bones for an extra glow.

Milani Baked Blush in “Coralina”

This has been my go-to blush this month and for the majority of the spring season! It’s a super pigmented coral shade,  gives a fresh look to the face, and lasts all day! I’m always impressed when I check my makeup and see that this blush is still on my face. While this product looks glittery when swatched, it gives a natural glow when I apply it. You don’t even really need a highlighter with this product!

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Bronzer in “Sunkissed”

I’m pretty new to using bronzer, but this product is perfect for adding just a touch of color to my face. It’s not too orange-y and is the perfect shade for an all-over bronzed look. It makes you look like you just got out of the sun! I also appreciate that the formula is really smooth and creamy–it feels like a high end product.

Tartest Pro to Go Eyeshadow Palette

I just purchased this palette this month and I love it! The shades are creamy and super pigmented. I also love that they have a nice scent to them; it makes the shadows feel ultra luxurious. This palette is great for creating an everyday bronze look, but also includes shades that can be used to create a smokey look for a night out. It’s color payoff and versatility make it a must have for me this summer.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what some of your summer beauty favorites are in the comments! I can’t wait to see what June holds. Happy summer!

May Favorites

Hello, friends! The end of May is almost here! That means summer is on its way! This also means that graduation is quickly approaching, and I could not be more excited. May was a very eventful month and these are some of the things that got me through.

L’Oreal Ever Pure Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner

I recently got my hair high-lighted and I absolutely love it! I wanted to make some small changes before I went to college and I think that coloring my hair was a good way to keep things fresh! In order to keep my color in check, I use the L’Oreal Ever Pure Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner, which has been wonderful. It’s formulated for colored hair, so it’s nice and gentle. It also extends the longevity of my color, while keeping my hair smooth, clean, and protected from harmful UV rays. Check this product out here.

Maybelline Better Skin Foundation and Concealer

I wear this dynamic duo pretty much every day and they have been great for my skin. They give me medium-full coverage, while feeling light weight and lasting throughout the day. My preferred method of application is by using a wet sponge, because it gives an airbrushed finish. Now, this product claims to give you “better skin” and I have to say that my skin has been nice to me over the past few weeks. Dare I say that it’s because of this foundation? I feel good about putting it on my skin, because it nourishes throughout the day. Check out this product here.

Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio- Nude Collection

These are basically eyeliners, but slightly more chubby. I wear these pretty much every day, because they’re easy to use and add a bit of shimmer and light to the eye. They also last all day, without smudging! My favorite combination is the gold liner with the black liner applied a bit on top.  Check this product out here.

Some of my other favorites and fun things for the month were prom, watching a ton of the Next Food Network Star, performing at Blumenthal Performing Arts, and winding down for the year. How did your month of May go? Let me know!
